She has over 30 years of leadership experience with MARTA, Georgia Municipal Association, the federal government, non-profits, and the public sector. In these areas, she has developed processes and policies, programming, and Workforce Development strategies. She is experienced in building relationships with community partners, industry partners, government officials, and faith-based organizations.
Veda is passionate about helping people. As the Workforce Development Coordinator for the Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA) construction team. Veda provided career and transitional services for more than three years through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, educational resource management, mentorship, and life coaching. Once she completed her mission on the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Project, she was hired to continue her career with the Construction Ready Pre-Apprenticeship Training and Job Placement Program formerly known as the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia (CEFGA). The best part about her work is reaching back into where she was born and raised in “The Beloved” Westside community by providing career and educational opportunities to long-time community residents.
Veda served ten years as a member of the Newton County Planning Commissioner and has participated on community committees. In her early career, she served as the Director of the Nelson Heights Community Center, in underserved areas by providing an after-school tutoring program for elementary school-age kids. Her program t provided a safe environment for tutoring and activities for those economically disadvantaged in that community.
Veda received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from American InterContinental University.
Veda's most prized accomplishment is being the proud mother of Tyler Carter who currently attends Nursing School.
