This weekend I had the pleasure of spending it with the women of The White House Project. This phenomenal organization teaches women that are interested in running or working in politics how to run a successful campaign. I met so many great women. I can’t name them all.
The Go Run Lead training that we received was more than I could have imagined. I made connections today that I know I will keep for a long time. Women can be so effective in public office and in their communities. I heard so many new ideas and policy changes. I am on fire! I will be running for a state office in 2012. And I left today energized and more confident than ever before. Sometimes all you need is for one person to tell you that you can do it. Just one person believing in you gives you power. It only takes two people to touch and agree on a thing. And that what you believe could be so.
There’re not nearly enough women in politics. If we had more women in legislation our country would look and feel a lot different. Help would have reached the Katrina victims quicker. Our children would have a better education. We would have better healthcare. And the list could go on. I would like to thank the women of The White House Project for their hard work and dedication to get more women into politics. As their slogan says, “Add women, CHANGE EVERYTHING!” www.thewhitehouseproject.org
