Charice Lewis has been hailed a hero for stopping her train in the nick of time. A drunken woman had fallen on the railroad tracks. The people that were waiting to get on the train started waiving their arms to signal the operator to stop the train. Lewis said that it was normal to see people waiving. However, she noticed that the people were too close on the yellow line, where they shouldn’t have been. Lewis immediately tugged the emergency brake. The train stopped right above the woman. The woman staggered away with only a few scrapes. Talk about lucky!
Jacqueline Osorio, another Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority employee, radioed Charice Lewis when she saw the woman fall onto the tracks. Both women were recognized by sate Transportation Secretary Jeffrey Mullan and they received a call from Gov. Deval Patrick. Quick thinking ladies!
